Bloome – Cycle Tracker

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 10, 2026

Overview

Bloome is a personal menstrual cycle tracker built with privacy as a core principle. There is no account or sign-in — the app works entirely on your device. Your health data is stored privately in your own iCloud account and is never accessible to us or any third party. We do not have access to your cycle logs, symptoms, or any health information you enter into the app.

Data We Collect

Health data — Menstrual cycle dates, flow level, birth year, and cycle settings, entered directly by you. Stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit framework and end-to-end encrypted. We cannot access it.
Display name & profile photo — Optional. Stored on your device and within your private iCloud account, the same way as your health data.
Home Screen widget data — A small summary (days until your next period, current phase) is stored locally on your device in a shared app container so the widget can display it. This never leaves your device.
Notifications — All reminders (period, fertile window, log reminders) are scheduled locally on your device using Apple's notification framework. No push notification server is involved and we never see their content.
Advertising identifiers — If you are not a Bloome Pro member, our ad partner (Google AdMob) may collect your device's advertising identifier and usage data to show and measure ads, subject to the App Tracking Transparency permission you control. See "Third-Party Services" below.

Optional Permissions

Photo Library — Only if you choose to set a profile picture. You pick a single photo; Bloome never browses your library.
Apple Calendar — Only if you enable Calendar Sync (a Bloome Pro feature) in Settings. Bloome then adds your logged cycle entries as events to your own Apple Calendar. We do not read or collect any other events or data from your calendar.
App Tracking Transparency — Asked once, at first launch, before any advertising data is collected. You can change your choice anytime in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Data We Do NOT Collect

Third-Party Services

Apple iCloud / CloudKit — All health and profile data is stored in your private iCloud account. We have no access to this data. Apple Privacy Policy
Apple StoreKit — Used to process the one-time "Bloome Pro" in-app purchase (Home Screen widget, Apple Calendar sync, and ad-free use). Payment and transaction data is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details.
Apple EventKit (Calendar) — Used only if you enable Calendar Sync, to write cycle events to your Apple Calendar on your behalf.
Google AdMob — Shows ads to non-Pro users. AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier and usage data for ad delivery and measurement, only with your permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. This never includes your cycle or health data. Google Privacy Policy

Data Storage & Security

All cycle and health data is stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit framework, protected by Apple's end-to-end encryption. We operate no servers that store your health data and we cannot access your iCloud data under any circumstances.
